What the data shows
The FAO Food Price Index hit an all-time high near 160 in March 2022 as the invasion of Ukraine disrupted grain and vegetable-oil exports, then fell back toward the mid-120s through 2023-2024 as supply chains adjusted, firming again toward ~131 by spring 2026. A nowcast extends the most recent readings.
Covered through May 31, 2026 · reviewed July 22, 2026.
Series
Each class is drawn with a distinct line style and marker shape (not colour alone). Vertical whiskers show uncertainty ranges. Modeled values (reconstructed / nowcast / forecast / scenario) are estimates, never reported history — see the epistemic model.
