What the data shows
The Russian share of EU gas imports fell from about 45% in 2021 toward roughly 19% by 2024 (a partial rebound from a 2023 low) as the EU diversified under REPowerEU, and Warconomy's nowcast puts 2026 lower still. The EU's stated roadmap is to fully end dependence on Russian energy. Annual figures may be revised.
