UNHCR's live operational data portal for refugees from Ukraine, aggregated from government registration data across host countries. Totals are recorded/registered counts, not a real-time headcount, and can move between snapshots as registrations are reconciled or people return; recent snapshots (Dec 2025-Apr 2026) put the total in the high-5-million range globally with the great majority in Europe. Not fetched at runtime; this repo cites the portal but does not scrape it, and treats the exact current figure as a manual-confirmation data need (see /data-needs) pending a directly re-verifiable snapshot.
