How Warconomy uses this source

A named, directly-attributable statement by SCA chairman and managing director Ossama Rabiee, delivered at the 15th MARLOG international maritime transport conference: 1,315 vessels transited the canal since the start of 2026 with 56 million net tons, generating $449 million, against 1,243 vessels / 47 million tons / $368 million in the same period of 2025 — and a first-half FY2025/26 improvement of 5.8 percent in vessel numbers, 16 percent in net tonnage and 18.5 percent in revenue year over year. This UPGRADES Warconomy Suez evidence from anonymous secondary paraphrase to an attributable official figure. Two caveats remain: Warconomy reached the statement through regional press reporting rather than an SCA press release it could open directly (the SCA statistics portal has been intermittently unreachable), and these are year-over-year comparisons against an already-depressed 2025 base, NOT a comparison against the pre-disruption 2023 level.

Why

  • official publisher
  • deep link to the specific page/series
  • manually reviewed

Limitations

  • manually maintained static value, not real-time
  • irregular/policy cadence; re-verify against the source

Citation readiness is a derived label from the source’s authority, role, and how directly it backs a maintained value — not a correctness claim.
